Orthognathic surgery or jaw surgery
This is a surgery to correct conditions of the jaw and face related to structure, for having a better facial shape. Patients who decide to have jaw surgery need to be planned for and diagnosed by a doctor. Surgery will be performed after the patient has been diagnosed. The jaw surgery is usually carried out inside of the oral cavity under anesthesia, which is performed by an anesthesiologist, and leaves no scar outside the mouth.

Post-Operative Care

Bruising, swelling, and numbness might occur. You have to take all medicine prescribed by the surgeon, and these symptoms should disappear within 1-2 weeks.

Cold compress for 1-2 days is required, in order to minimize swelling and bruising in treatment site.

Sleep with head elevated on pillows for 2-3 days after your procedure, in order to relieve swelling in treatment area that might occur after the surgery.

Clean surgical wounds regularly. A surgeon will appoint you to have stitches removed within 5-7 days after surgery
